Isn't that quote working against your beloved KISS principle?
 

For the lazy :-), the quote would be: For every complex problem there is a simple solution... and it is wrong.

I would say that it's just adding perspective to KISS.

I'll drop in another interesting intuition from the great C.A.R. Hoare: Inside every large problem is a small problem struggling to get out.

I don't see any real contradiction with KISS, but anyway, here is F. Scott Fitzgerald to the rescue :-)) The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.
